Introduction
This document is aimed at providing you with a brief overview of our firm and to introduce our services.
In this document, we intend to illustrate how we assess value and whether there is fair value between the total price of the service and the benefits and their quality that our clients receive.
Octagon Consultancy Ltd is a firm of independent financial planners and an Appointed Representative of Best Practice IFA Group Limited, which is a network that promotes a high level of market standards through the provision of back-up resource, technology, training, and support. Best Practice IFA Group Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The registration number is 223112, and a full list of Appointed Representatives can be found on the FCA register.
We are a Chartered Firm of financial planners. This means we have satisfied rigorous criteria relating to professional qualifications and good ethical practice. It means you can be confident that you are dealing with one of the UK's leading firms that are wholly committed to providing you with the best possible advice, service, and support.
Octagon Consultancy is based in Clifton, Bristol. We have over 150 years of experience in dealing with clients.

Our service proposition has been designed to meet the needs and objectives of our clients and to ensure fair value is received by engaging with our service.
We have categorised clients by their life stage and will deliver advice based on their needs at that life stage which corresponds with the services we offer. Typically, clients have more complexity as they approach retirement as they need to plan for retirement income and possibly sell their business.
Our average client is 60 years old and has an average investment portfolio of £424,937.65. The average client has 2.54 wrappers, with pensions being the most common wrapper, which reflects the demographic of client we typically advise.

Initially clients will be offered a Financial Planning report to address the following:
Financial Planning: To identify what you might want to achieve and how you can do this. We can help you to identify your goals and create a plan for your finances to help you achieve them.
Retirement planning: To know whether the money you are saving towards retirement will provide you with sufficient funds to meet your retirement objectives. We can work with you to proactively plan for your retirement and help you decide on the options available once at retirement.
Protection planning: Protection planning can help to provide peace of mind in the event of your income changes due to unexpected events. We can help you plan for the best way to protect you, your family, or your business.
We then provide an ongoing advice for all financial planning clients.
All clients then receive the following:

a review of your attitude to risk, identifying any changes in your profile and confirming the ongoing appropriateness of your portfolio against your stated attitude to risk
